So you want to be able to boot XP and BeatrIX on the same computer. Well you came to the right place. At least this is how
I did it.
I started out with a fresh copy of XP. You do not have to... it just makes it run better. You need to run
scan disk and then defrag your hard drive.
OK The first thing you need to do is download a copy of Suse 9.2 dvd. Not
the live or mini version. Then boot from it.
| Highlite INSTALLATION then Enter |

|
Next it will open a window for yast and basic installation. Choose your language and click NEXT.

|
| Click NEXT |
Next comes Auto Detect for Installation Settings. When it is done Click NEXT>

|
| Click NEXT |
Fom here on it is pretty easy to pick what you need to do. When it gets to update .... I skipped this part as I did not plan
to use Suse. After this just follow the pictures and fill in the blanks for your self. Nothing you have to remember. When
you are done you are going to reboot. Here you will check to make sure everything is working OK. When booting into XP it will
check to see if everything is ok. You can also boot into Suse if you wish to play with that beforechanging it over to BeatrIX.
Basicly just follow the pictures.

|
| This is where you skip the updates. |

|
| Click NEXT |

OK You are finished with the Suse install. Now take The dvd out. Here I would let it boot so you can check to make sure everything
is working OK. Besure to check if both XP and Suse booth work OK.
Now is the time to put in BeatrIX cd.

| Check to make sure XP & Suse boot ok |

| Highlight ext3 &click OK |

|

|
| Type Administration Pasword & Click OK |

|
| Put Host Name here& Click OK |

|
| Be sure to use mbr & Click OK |

|

|
| Click OK |

|
| After it finishes installing Click OK |

|
| I do not have a Floppy drive so I Clicked Cancel |

|
| YEA!! Click OK |
OK Take the CD out and reboot.
Now PAY ATTENTION because the boot up is quick. If you want to boot into XP you have to click the Esc key when you turn
the machine on. Otherwize it boots into BeatrIX. You only have three seconds I think to choose if you don't.

|
| This is what you see when it first boots... if you are quick. |

|
| This is your choice |
I am sorry the picyures did not come out that good. It is not my fault or the cameras. Tripod just does not do well with
pictures. I started to download them at full size but it takes to long to open up the web page.
I hope this helps you to get BeatrIX up and running.
I want to THANK Steve and all the others that worked so hard to make such a nice distro.
Please check out the goodies at the New BEA Store.
